Brief Summary

Forensics01

The non-destructive and in-situ identification of controlled drugs and narcotics

Raman spectra of various drugs can be recorded from minute amounts of material. The Raman fingerprint allows their identification even when cutting agents are present.

Forensics02

The non-destructive and in-situ analysis of different black inks

The inks from inkjet or laserjet printers or photocopiers display unique Raman spectra which allows a straightforward assignment of the origin of a unknown document using the non destructive confocal Raman microspectrometry.

Forensics03

Explosive Materials

Raman spectra of explosives allow to extract information on their chemical composition. Minute amounts of material can be examined on site, non invasively to characterize the explosive contamination. In this application, Raman determines the presence of RDX and PETN explosive agents and the binder.
