It offers a non-destructive, non-contact method of analysis suitable for both lab based and plant based applications. The high information content of the Raman spectrum provides a unique fingerprint with which to identify and monitor chemical reactions and processes.

Remote in-situ monitoring can be obtained through the use of fibre-optic linked Raman probes.
